Campbell Family Dinner Sneaks

About nine months ago I wrote a blog post called "True-to-You Family Sessions: A Fresh Take on Family Photos." The idea was to plan family sessions around things your family enjoys doing together. Of course I'll always plan to capture the classic smiling poses, but you'll also get a final gallery filled with moments that are true to your family and special to this season of life. You'll get pictures that tell your story.

Last Saturday, I was able to do my first family session like this. The Campbell family hasn't all been together in three years. Two babies have been born in that time. So when Maegan reached out and explained her idea, I was excited about the opportunity. She wanted to do family pictures together at their home and then also document a family meal, everyone around their table, spending that time together. It was so special to be a fly on the wall (or a photographer in the corner). And it definitely doesn't hurt that I got some awesome mac and cheese out of it.

We started with family photos in their yard.

After playing in the yard and a little bit of reading with grandmas, the party moved inside for dinner.

What a sweet evening to document. Campbell family, thank you for trusting me to capture these moments. It was a joy to be a part of.
